Call on banks to stop funding oil and gas in the Amazon

Since 2016, banks have directly financed over $15 billion to Amazon oil and gas industry, with just 10 banks accounting for almost 75% of the direct financing.

Deforestation caused by destructive industries like oil and gas in the Amazon has already sent the rainforest hurtling towards a tipping point. One of the largest oil and gas companies, Petrobras, is moving to drill in the mouth of the Amazon River, enabled by big banks.

Will you add your name and urge banks to stop capitalizing on the collapse of the Amazon?

The Amazon rainforest is at a tipping point. The time for half-measures is over. We strongly urge you to phase out all financing for oil and gas in the Amazon, before it’s gone for good.
