Help secure a thriving future for the Amazon and its people

As COP30 unfolds in the heart of the Amazon, in Belém, Brazil, we have a real opportunity to advance a key initiative that Indigenous Peoples in the Amazon have been calling for: an Amazon free of fossil fuels and all forms of extractavism.

Declaring the Amazon as an exclusion zone would do just that and more. Exclusion zones safeguard the rights, lives, and territories of Indigenous Peoples — especially those living in voluntary isolation and initial contact.

The COP presidency, which is always held by the host country, plays a pivotal role in shaping the agenda of the conference. With Brazil leading the way, we have a unique opportunity to call on COP President André Corrêa do Lago, Brazilian President Lula, and Minister of the Environment Marina Silva to champion the protection of Indigenous Peoples Living in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact and the end of extractive activities in the Amazon.

Join me in urging these leaders to take real action — sign the petition today and help secure a thriving future for the Amazon and its people.
