FortisBC wants to expand its Tilbury LNG plant along a fragile part of the Fraser River, in Delta, British Columbia. If we don’t intervene, this project could have devastating impacts on nearby communities, critical habitat for marine life, and our climate. It would also slow down the transition towards truly safe and sustainable alternatives.
Thankfully, the Tilbury LNG expansion plan is far from a done deal – it's going through B.C.’s environmental assessment process and will soon be open for public comment, which means we still have a chance to stop this project in its tracks.
*Want to take your action one step further? From now until July 27, 2026 the Tilbury Phase 2 Expansion Project is in the Effects Assessment & Recommendation phase, where the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) is seeking public feedback on the project. Find out how to submit a comment and have your say in the process using our Participation Toolkit.
FortisBC's proposed expansion of the Tilbury LNG plant could have devastating impacts on nearby communities, critical habitat for marine life, and our climate. I urge you to reject the Tilbury LNG expansion plan.
