Call on countries around the world to exclude biomass energy from their national climate plans at COP29

By February 2025, every UN country must submit a new plan outlining how they will cut their climate pollution. If we put pressure while delegations are together in Baku negotiating their climate plans, we could convince countries to invest in genuine renewables instead of handing out billions of dollars in subsidies to energy giants like Drax, that log and burn forests for electricity.

We can't replace fossil fuels with so-called "solutions" that contribute to climate pollution and destroy forests. Real, clean alternatives like wind, solar, and energy efficiency are already within reach.

It’s time to remind world leaders that healthy, thriving forests are crucial in the fight against climate change—cutting them down to burn for electricity is simply unacceptable.

Will you join me calling on governments around the world to cut ties with biomass in their national climate plans?
