Submit a comment to stop Woodfibre LNG

orca Mountain pipeline

Woodfibre LNG is a proposed Liquefied ‘Natural’ Gas (LNG – aka fracked gas) export project being pushed through in Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), British Columbia. And right now we have a brand new opportunity to stop it in its tracks.

Woodfibre has complained to the federal regulator in Canada (the IAAC) that it won’t be able to meet certain environmental conditions around underwater noise, and has requested they be modified so it can proceed with its project. But these conditions are in place to protect at-risk orcas, sea lions, dolphins and other marine mammals in the pristine Howe Sound (Átl’ḵa7tsem).

No fossil fuel company should be given a free pass to harm critical marine species. But if we don’t speak up, the IAAC will grant Woodfibre’s request. On the flip side – if we can flood the IAAC’s public comment period about the proposed removal of these essential environmental conditions, it could stop Woodfibre from starting construction.

Use our easy tool to submit a public comment before December 19th, and tell the federal regulator to stop giving Woodfibre LNG a free pass to destroy the environment.
