As some of the world’s largest delivery companies, Amazon, Walmart, UPS, FedEx, and DHL can count on sustained growth as e-commerce continues to expand. That growth comes with a responsibility to not wreak havoc on community health and the climate.
We have to multiply the speed of decarbonisation of the worlds’ vehicle fleet by 22 times to avoid the worst of the climate crisis. Amazon, Walmart, UPS, FedEx, and DHL need to stop running on fossil fuels now.
Amazon, Walmart, UPS, FedEx, and DHL must:
- Work with urgency towards making 100% of their fleets Zero Emissions by 2030.
- Immediately cease the procurement of any fossil - fuel powered delivery vehicles.
- Immediately supply (and then on a yearly basis) clear and comparable data on greenhouse gas emissions, the measures taken to address environmental impacts, and the monitoring of the impact of these measures.
