From coal-powered fashion factories to yoga pants spun from fracked gas, lululemon is steeped in fossil fuels.

Lululemon scored a low “D-” in our industry-leading Fossil-Free Fashion Scorecard. The company’s biggest climate blindspots lie in its supply chain – where most of its emissions are generated. Lululemon has yet to commit to transitioning to renewable energy in its manufacturing and phasing out the use of fossil fuel in its factories and fabrics.

The recent IPCC report made it very clear that burning fossil fuels, like coal, cannot continue if we want a liveable and climate-safe world. Piecemeal climate plans that rely on carbon offsets while making more and more clothes are not gonna cut it.

We have an opportunity to influence Lululemon to change course and work with its suppliers to invest in enough efficient and sustainable energy to not wreck the climate. Let’s send our message to the top of the food chain by letting the brand’s top executives know that phasing out fossil fuels, like coal, is a priority issue for the people and the planet.
