Start Organizing with SAFE Cities

Welcome to the SAFE Cities movement! We’re looking forward to collaborating with you.

SAFE Cities is an international movement of communities organizing to pass local policies that phase out fossil fuels and fast track clean, more efficient energy solutions for all. We're building a network of local groups organizing to get local elected officials to pass SAFE policies – like getting gas out of buildings, protecting communities from new or expanded fossil fuel infrastructure, and more.

Joining the SAFE Cities community means getting the support, network, and tools to help keep your community safe from fossil fuels. We’ll share campaign updates, provide online trainings, and get you access to a network of likeminded people to help build a powerful, unstoppable movement.

Please fill out this sign up form if you would like to start organizing a SAFE Cities campaign in your community. Whether you're part of an existing group that is interested in organizing on SAFE or if you’re going to start organizing on SAFE without a group, you're welcome to join us

If you have a specific municipality (city, county, township, etc.) in mind, be sure to list it's full name (i.e. Whatcom County, Washington)
SAFE Cities is committed to building an equitable movement. To see how we're doing, we like to collect information on the identity of our organizers so we can hold ourselves accountable to these goals.

In order to foster a culture of equity, community, personal responsibility and collective accountability, we ask people who join the SAFE Cities movement to please review this document with information regarding our organizing principles and guidelines on use of our tools. If you have questions or want to talk before agreeing to these guidelines, please just let us know.
