At a city council meeting on March 2nd, Santa Ana will be discussing whether or not to move forward with passing a climate emergency resolution. But not just any climate emergency resolution – this one will endorse the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty (we could be the first in the U.S. to do so!). It will also state our city's alignment with the SAFE Cities movement's goal of stopping new fossil fuel infrastructure and implementing a just transition. This is a real chance to start our community – and the world – on a path to an environment safe from fossil fuels and climate change.
However, for this climate emergency resolution including an endorsement of the Treaty and SAFE Cities to pass, local leaders need to hear from you – and we've created a tool that makes submitting a comment in support of this action super easy.
