For more than four years local residents in Tacoma – including environmentalists, nurses, physicians, and longshoremen – have been working alongside the Puyallup Tribe and groups like Stand.earth to protect their communities from the threat of fossil fuel expansion along the Tacome Tideflats. They’ve won crucial regulations on new facilities, but there’s a big loophole they’re still fighting to close by securing key regulations on existing facilities.
