In the latest provincial budget, the B.C. government gave a billion of your tax dollars to corporate polluters.
After oil-centric Alberta, B.C. has been giving more handouts to fossil fuel companies than any other province. Twice as much in fact, as it’s been spending on its plan to fight climate change. This is the reason we’re failing to meet our greenhouse gas reduction target.
We’re in a climate crisis, and on top of that, communities across B.C. are still reeling from the impacts of COVID-19. Instead of lining the pockets of oil and gas executives, that money should be going to the people who need it.
