Gas-powered buildings are a bad idea: for our health, our air, and the climate. When we hook up buildings to fossil gas, we put our public health at risk and we fail to take necessary climate action.

Burning gas in buildings is the #1 source of climate pollution in Bellingham. To tackle the climate crisis, we must build without fossil fuels.

Bellingham can be a real climate leader, for Washington state and the nation. We have a real chance to pass this policy in before 2021 ends – but only if the Mayor and Council makes it a priority.

It’s time to build for the clean energy future...not the fossil-fueled past.

Let’s make Bellingham one of the first cities in Washington, and one of the first in the nation, to build all-electric new buildings.

Add your name and we’ll send a powerful message to Bellingham’s leaders: pass an ordinance to require new buildings to be electric, safe, and climate-friendly.
