Oil and gas rigs are a common sight throughout Los Angeles, sometimes just feet away from schools, playgrounds, homes, and hospitals. And overwhelmingly, they’re located in BIPOC and low income communities – contributing to higher than average rates of cancer, early death, asthma, and more. That’s unacceptable.
Right now, LA County is accepting comments about the future of oil and gas production within the county and we have a chance to ensure that it implements policies that protect all Angelenos, not just those in affluent communities.
You words can have immense influence in shifting the government's action, especially at the local level. Please add your personal concerns to make this comment even stronger and more impactful.
