Help stop the largest tar sands mine ever proposed

Justin Trudeau and his Cabinet are about to make their first major climate decision since being re-elected: whether or not to approve the largest tar sands mine ever proposed.

Going ahead with the Frontier Mine, owned by Vancouver-based company Teck, would cause irreversible impacts on the environment.

Nearly double the size of the City of Vancouver, Teck’s mega-mine would release a shocking amount of carbon pollution, (more than putting 1.2 million cars on the road), making it impossible to meet our international climate commitments. Teck would destroy old-growth forests, critical fish habitat, and lead to the permanent loss of 14,000 hectares of wetlands.

It’s time for Trudeau to live up to his promise of climate leadership and reject the Teck mine. Sign the petition now.
