Thank you Whatcom County Council!

Person speaks to Whatcom County Council

We’ve been working together for years to protect Cherry Point, the climate, and the Salish Sea. And now Whatcom County Council has taken a big step forward. This policy has taken more than two years to craft, and this version that they have settled on is really good. We’re not done yet, but today is a good day to say thank you for how far we have come.

Please customize the sample text and send a quick comment to the five Council Members who voted to support the policy: Carol Frazey, Rud Browne, Barry Buchanan, Satpal Sidhu, and Todd Donovan.

Stay tuned! We’re not done working on this yet. The resolution forwarding the policy to the Planning Commission initiates a public review and comment process. There will be a technical review and a couple of public hearings in September and October. We’ll need to keep the pressure on as these steps occur, but for now, we want to make sure they know we appreciate the good decisions they have already made.
