A safe climate future means no more pipelines

Tell Trudeau to dump the trans mountain pipeline.

As we experience yet another year of wildfires, droughts, and floods, one thing is impossible to ignore: we are in a climate emergency. That means we simply can't build any more fossil fuel projects. Not any. Not even one.

Will you tell the Canadian government that we oppose the Trans Mountain Pipeline?

As inspirational teenage climate leader Greta Thunberg says, "our house is on fire, and we need to start acting like it". In the next decade, we need to rapidly transform our transportation, housing, agriculture and manufacturing sectors so they're powered by renewable energy. This is the challenge of our generation, and it's where our leaders should be focused.

If built, the Trans Mountain pipeline would transport over a million barrels of oil every two days. It would also increase oil tanker traffic on the west coast by 700%, threatening endangered orca whales in the process.

A spill would place hundreds of thousands of people at risk, devastating local recreation and tourism industries and threatening seafood and traditional livelihoods on the west coast. It would also make it next-to-impossible for Canada to meet its Paris climate commitments, let alone do our part to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees.

Help us ensure that this pipeline is never built. Add your voice today.
