Bill C-39, the Bulldoze Nature Bill, is a major piece of legislation that is being fast-tracked through Parliament.
It’s got A LOT in it, proposing significant changes (picture: a bulldozer) to environmental, transportation, and workers rights. It does not mention the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples or the principle of free, prior, and informed consent. We can build a clean, sovereign energy system and economy while respecting Indigenous rights, workers' rights and investing in Canadian innovation and communities. But not with Bill C-39.
Momentum is building across the country. The third and final reading of Bill C-39 will happen before the end of the year. If we can show unified public opposition to this legislation’s attacks on environmental protections, Indigenous rights, and labour law, we can force the federal government to back down.
Send a message to your MP, Prime Minister Carney, and the Cabinet Ministers reviewing the bill and demand: Stop Bill C-39.
