Protect the Future: Stop the Environmental Rollbacks

The environmental laws that are under threat today aren’t red tape – they protect the nature we all love and the health and safety of communities all across the country.

Overturning core environmental protections won't make us safer or stronger, but it will put the nature we depend on and the values that people in Canada hold dear at risk.

From old growth forests to the Great Lakes, from endangered orcas to southern mountain caribou, lands and waters are not disposable in the name of corporate profits. We can build a clean, sovereign energy system and economy while respecting Indigenous rights, worker's rights and investing in Canadian innovation and communities.

Protect our future. Stop the environmental rollbacks, including Bill C-39. Sign the petition now!

We call on the federal government to stop destroying necessary environmental protections in the name of economic progress. History has shown us it never works: not only do the benefits not reach communities; Indigenous communities feel the brunt of the impact, environmental disasters are more likely, the public ends up paying for the cleanup, and the climate and environment are left with devastating scars.

We call on you to:

  • Respect Indigenous Title and Rights, and center Indigenous-led solutions
  • Vote no on the Bulldozing Nature Bill
  • Use public funds to grow the clean energy economy instead of subsidizing profitable and polluting oil companies
  • Protect nature, including endangered species like the Southern Resident Killer Whales
  • Make sure Canada has a real plan to tackle climate change that starts with regulating and taxing the heaviest polluters
  • Protect workers' rights, including the right to strike, and prioritize the creation of good jobs and training programs as we transition to a sustainable energy economy
